Delaynee came home from preschool last Thursday the 19th with a fish. So we officially have our first pet. She named him Freddy. Matt reaction was he was really liking this preschool thing until they sent home fish! He said what do we do when the fish dies and we have a sad little girl. So we told her it may not live very long and that when it dies it goes to fish heaven. (preparing her for the worst). It has lived 4 days so far. Not bad for our first pet. The straw in the jar is not for drinking. we heard that if you blow bubbles into the water it helps put oxygen itno the water for the fish. (who knows if it is helping!)

Too funny! We had fish once upon a time - we got 7 goldfish as pets for the boys. They did great for about a week and then slowly, one-by-one they started dying. Each morning we would go downstairs to feed the fish and find one more floating at the top of the tank until there was one lonely fish left. We think he was eating his tank-mates so we nicknamed him Jeffrey Dahmer. But, it was hard to explain to the boys that the fish all live in heaven now. Good luck with that! :-)
If her fish dies, we have one that has lived WAY longer than it should have. So she is welcome to have it!
Did you know the fish was coming home?
